Hollow Fiber Dialyzer

The device

OCI-HD180L is a hollow fiber hemodialyzer. The membrane is polyethersulfone. The flux is low flux. It is the filter in the kidney dialysis kit that SHI distributes: the other two devices are the fistula needle sets and the blood tubing set. The membrane area is 1.8 m². That figure is the one printed for OCI-HD180L. When a quotation names the hollow fiber dialyzer, it names this model and this area, so the pack and the quotation are the same device.

Transmembrane pressure

The label states a maximum transmembrane pressure of 500 mmHg. The same limit is given as 66.5 kPa. This is the pressure ceiling printed on the label. It is read with the machine the center already uses.

The machine

The dialyzer is for use only with a dialysis machine that controls ultrafiltration. That line is a condition of use on the label. The full instruction, including the warnings, stays on the label that travels with the device.
