On the product label, SHI is the importer and Chengdu OCI Medical Devices Co., Ltd. is the manufacturer. The brand on the pack is Medi Sense. The labels also name an EU representative: Lepu Medical (Europe) Cooperatief U.A., Heerenveen, the Netherlands. Registration papers are kept with the Quality records.
The kidney dialysis kit
The kit is three sterile, single-use devices. They are supplied together, and each one can also be quoted on its own.
The hollow fiber dialyzer is a low flux PES model with a membrane area of 1.8 m². It is for use only with a dialysis machine that controls ultrafiltration. The label states a maximum transmembrane pressure of 500 mmHg (66.5 kPa). It is sterilised with ethylene oxide, and it is stored dry at 0–40°C, with relative humidity up to 80%.
The fistula needle sets are sterile arteriovenous sets with a rotated wing. The sizes are 16G and 17G, each in 25 mm and 32 mm. Storage is dry, at 0–40°C. A lot number or an expiry date on sample artwork belongs to that printed sample. It is not the only lot the office can supply.
The blood tubing set, OCI-BL-HDA(a1-b1-c1-d1), has a pump segment with an inside diameter of 9.8 mm and a blood volume of 160 mL. The arterial line is red and the venous line is blue. The set is sterile, pyrogen-free, sterilised with ethylene oxide, and single use, with a stated shelf life of three years. It is not for a heart-lung machine, and it is not for the infusion of a liposoluble liquid or medicine. The label allows a maximum positive pressure of 66.5 kPa and a maximum negative pressure of −66.5 kPa. The recommended range is −50 to +50 kPa. Some parts that contact blood are PVC containing DEHP.
The dialyzer label prints an M.R.P. of Rs. 500. The tubing label prints an M.R.P. of Rs. 1000. Those are the prices printed on the labels. A quotation is prepared apart from them.
Beside the kit

Hospitals use the range in wards and procedure rooms. Pharmacies hold the lines their own customers ask for. Dialysis centers work with the kit itself: the dialyzer, the fistula needles, and the blood tubing. Distributors place the same products in their own markets.
